Our 'sacs are not filled with polystyrene beans, but instead are filled with a polyurethane foam - hence they are not 'Bean Bags'. There are two components to Lovesacs: Inserts and Covers. Lovesacs are not only an evolution, but a revolution.
This refers to the foam content contained in an inner lining. The Inserts are handmade and are all serial coded as to when and how they were made. After manufacturing, each item is individually tested and given a digital certificate detailing the individual results for warranty, archival purposes, and guaranteed satisfaction. Think of this as your ‘pillow’.
A softer coloured layer of your choosing. They too are handmade and are designed to be machine washable and interchangeable. Think of this as your 'pillow-case'.
Love. No seriously, they are filled with Durafoam™ (And love!).
A polyurethane foam similar to that which you will find in mattresses. Only instead of sheets, it has been shredded.
Traditionally bean bags require you to fill a cover with beans made out of polystyrene. You simply buy enough bags of beans to fill your particular item. Beans will always compress over time and always require refilling at some point in a bean bags short lifetime. Beans are less comfortable. Beans make a crunching sound when you sit on them. Beans mould into a firm fixture when you sit on them. Beans are potentially hazardous to children, pets and the environment if they are released.
Our Lovesac Durafoam™ is guaranteed to last 10 YEARS without needing refilling. It comes pre-filled direct from our factory for no mess or fuss. Durafoam™ is ten times more comfortable than beans. Durafoam™ doesn’t make a sound when you sit on it. Durafoam™ moulds to your shape and remains flexible and breathes. The potential for Lovesac Durafoam™ to harm your children, pets or the environment is minuscule because the foam is hypoallergenic, bacteria and moisture resistant; and our items are carefully sealed during construction.
No. The foam is sealed within a liner. Lovesacs are designed so that you will never have to touch the foam content. We pre-fill your Lovesac at the factory and seal it to ensure that it is safe. All you have to do is simply fluff the Lovesac by punching and massaging the foam Insert; following the 'How-To-Lovesac' instructions or by watching our video:
Why else? We are the ultimate in alternative furniture. You will not find another item with the same properties of the same quality. When you want the next best thing, remember second place is the first loser! Accept no substitutes. Our items are modeled off of the original Lovesac USA, however in true Aussie fashion, we've found a way to make them even better!
They are more comfortable. They last longer. They have the longest warranty. The covers are removable and washable. And those purchased through Lovesac Australia are Australian Made.
Like sinking into a bed full of down feathers. Or a hug by a giant cashmere Teddy-Bear. Or like floating on your back in a pool of water on a warm summers day. The most comfortable alternative to regular furniture. The most comfortable “Bean Bag” or “Sac” on the market - make no mistake. Nothing compares to the welcoming, immersive, all encompassing embrace of a Lovesac.
Our items aren't made overseas like other inferior brands. Our warranty is longer than any other brand or product on the market. As they are Australian made, the costs associated with manufacturing locally are higher; however, you can be certain that every item is individually tested and approved before being fit for sale. Consider it an investment for the best there is.
There is no comparison. From the design, comfort, construction, value, and longevity of the product; to the authenticity, reliability, expertise, and professionalism of our customer service and brand - you will not find a better investment. Ask what their product is, how they control the quality, how they manufacture, where they get the product from, what their philosophy is, what they provide the customer, what their return policies are, what their delivery wait times are; and then compare. There is no comparison.
Lovesac. Most certainly within Australia this is the case - no matter what another company may advertise or tell you. There have been various ‘copycats’ over the years, many of whom offer little more than an item that isn't as comfortable and simply won't last. Some have not only attempted to copy the product (and have it made overseas), they've gone so far as to copy our content, instructions, and warranty details - by altering a word or two! We’re confident in our brand and product in that no other company can offer what we can and do every day.
Most lounges are constructed in such a way that they force you to sit in a set position; hence why shopping for lounges can be irksome in that everybody finds something different comfortable. A Lovesac is full of malleable foam that shapes itself around the body of weight that presses into it; therefore moulding specifically to your individual shape. What’s more you can move your Lovesac easily out of the way; in the case with smaller items - quickly from room to room. And unlike most lounges you can take the covers off and wash them - or simply change the colour!
However, we don't believe a Lovesac should necessarily replace a lounge. They represent different qualities in a space. A lounge is a formal way to entertain your guests and past-times. A Lovesac is a more relaxed way to entertain your guests and past-times. If you're lucky enough to have the space you may entertain the idea of both in the same space or even have two separate areas allocated to different past-times.
Do you like watching movies? Do you like playing games? Do you like reading books? Do you like snuggling? Do you like sitting? The chances are that you like at least one of those things. More specifically: Couples buy them while they’re saving for a home. Parents buy them for their kids. Gamers buy them for themselves. Young people buy them to share with their housemates. Families buy them for their home cinemas. Councils buy them for their libraries. Companies buy them for their green rooms. Schools buy them for their break out rooms. Everyone wants to enjoy the Love!
In short, Lovesacs are designed to mold completely to your shape, in such a way that the entire of your body is hugged and supported. That means you can let all your muscles relax - similar to lying in your bed.
‘Sitting’ is generally considered bad for the back and posture; movement every 20mins keeps the body supple like a well oiled machine. People with existing spinal issues may find Lovesacs comfortable, however the seat is quite low to the ground, and may be difficult to get out of.
There are a lot of lounge products out there that ask your body to conform to a particular shape. We hear it all the time: “We spent thousands on a lounge which looks great, but I can’t sit comfortably”.
With all of this in mind, we believe that a Lovesac is better for your back than most lounges.
No. Lovesacs are not designed to maximise efficiency whilst minimising physical effort and discomfort. They are designed to minimise physical effort and maximise comfort.
Ergonomics is also called biotechnology: which is the study of the relationship between workers and their environment; specifically - the equipment they use.
Some of the smaller items may feel like they could use something extra to prop your head up - especially if you’re taller than average. Luckily we have our Tubesac pillow accessory!
The Pillowsac, Supersac and BigOne can be arranged so that they don’t require this extra support. For those who still want the extra, the Tubesac's got your...neck. Keep in mind that most lounges don't cater for you to lean back and be completely supported without holding your head up, either.
If you have a larger Lovesac, you can use it as an extra bed for a person staying overnight. However, Lovesacs are not beds and we don’t recommend them for this specific use - long term. Your spine is supposed to lengthen while being supported while you sleep. That said, it’s easy to fall asleep in them, so beware!
The nature of a Lovesac is that it envelops you in foam. If the temperature climbs to 30 degrees it can start to get a little warm. That said, without air conditioning, any furniture item - cotton, leather or otherwise will feel warm at such temperatures. The flip side is that they can be a great comfort in cooler seasons and climates. If you live in a warmer climate (Darwin for example) we recommend getting the Microsuede over Plushsuede. The Microsuede is half as thick and cooler to the touch.
